Family Photo Friday #32 - 15/08/14

It's Friday, I thought it was Thursday and I'm posting this before I run off to the park.

The summer holidays are fabulous and we're loving being outside and enjoying the (mostly) good weather.

I took this the other day while we were out at Wicksteed Park. I just can't believe how grown up she is suddenly. She loves a good sand pit, although I suspect the other children don't appreciate her sandy play so much!

Thanks for continuing to link up and join in even while your host is being completely pants!

    Family Photo Friday #31 - 08/08/14

We spent last weekend staying with one of my besties in the New Forest, which meant plenty of fresh air and enjoying the sunshine... And geocaching. Lots of geocaching... I'll make that my word of the week! Effy has really started to show an interest in searching for "treasure", which I love. Here she is with a cache we found by compass alone when GPS failed us with D, her godmother and Lowen's godfather after a very long walk and some excellent puzzle solving on her godmother's behalf! We've more than doubled our total of finds in the last 10 days, there's a bit of an addiction forming here!

    Usual stuff...

    Family Photo Friday #30 - 01/08/2014 / L is for...

I've been really quiet and I make no apology. It's the summer holidays, D is off, and it's been a really busy couple of weeks. His best mate got married, one of my best mates got married, another best friend had her beautiful baby and I had the joy of photographing her two hours new, I went back to work for the end of term and I've started a new business. It's been hectic. Good hectic, but my time for blogging is the scrapings of the jar at the moment. Huge apologies for not having commented, retweeted, popped over etc. Next week I have a date with my iPad and a bottle of wine to get up to speed.

So this photo is my Family Photo Friday picture. It's also my #alphabetphoto picture for L.

L is for loves. My favourite three.

    Family Photo Friday #28 & #29 - 18/07/2014 & 25/07/2014

Sorry that #familyphotofriday never materialised last week. Someone (!) forgot the schedule the post and then got wrapped up in getting ready for a wedding that D was best man at... Then I went back to work! Thanks for those who asked after me and wished me well.

Here's a double whammy of #familyphotofriday fun! Feel free to link up your posts from last week and this week...

    Family Photo Friday #23 - 13/06/2014

A little post bigging up my big one today. She's been SO much fun this week. She's effortlessly cool and I felt she deserved the spot light. I cannot believe she is nearly 2 ¼... going on 15!

A couple of pictures from the weekend enjoying the sunshine and playing with daddy.

I particularly enjoyed the photos of four generations from Life's Little Treasures last week - thanks so much for sharing Kelly, for someone reason it wont let me comment but I thought they were a lovely record of your family!

    Family Photo Friday #21- 30/05/2014

I still find too often that it's me left behind the camera. Don't get me wrong, I really do not enjoy having my picture taken, but I look back through my early photos of Effy and there are so few of her and I together. I'm trying hard to rectify this by passing the camera to others, but D is awful at just picking it up and I think my DSL is daunting to others. So, in a bid to get more pictures, here's Lowen and I when we were out in Coventry last week. There's another post to follow about what took us to Coventry... Keep your eyes peeled.

I enjoyed PixieDusk's geocaching photos last week - a caching family ourselves, I know how much fun this can be!

    Family Photo Friday #20 - 23/05/2014

I've fallen in love with my camera again this week. We had some disagreements with focus and I was getting frustrated but I'm pleased to report that we are back on track - phew!

Two photos from me this week - a rare sight to have me in front of the camera, really, but it happened twice, on different days! So, a picture of me with each of my daughters. This week I'll work on getting one of all four of us. It's not happened yet, I don't think!

My favourite post from last week was from All About a Mummy - she absolutely captured the love between her two little girls. Thanks so much for sharing!

Take a moment to recap the rules, please!

    Family Photo Friday #17 - 02/05/14

May! You sprung up on on us somewhat unexpectedly!

I don't know if I'm coming or going at the moment. I haven't seen much of the girls or my camera this week... So I had to post the linky rather belatedly to get a picture of the girls together this morning... Good job they love each other so much!

    Family Photo Friday #14 - 04/04/14

As an only child, I grew up pining for a sibling. Someone to play with, to fill my time with. Someone to take me side, and someone to blame. My friends said I was lucky to be an only child, and not have to share, but actually sharing was all I wanted to do.

So you can imagine my joy a month ago when not only did Effy gain a sibling, a best friend... She gained a sister. She ADORES "baby sister" (who isn't yet known by name!) and Lowen is captivated by Effy, watching her, cooing at her, and no doubt getting some bad ideas for when she's older. They are already everything I wish I had had. They'll never be lonely... I hope they grow old together.

So, my family picture this week is me with my beautiful girls. I cannot describe the love I have for them.

I particularly enjoyed the story behind the picture from Ups and Downs, Smiles and Frowns... A picture of all three children looking in the right direction at the same time! Thanks so much for linking up!

    Family Photo Friday #9 - 28/02/14

Last link up of the month - hopefully there'll be no issues with Linky Tools this week!

This is my last picture of us as a Family of Three - next week's Linky will be hosted by the fabulously wonderful Mummy Rawles as I will definitely have a baby by then! Char is one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to my camera so I'm really thrilled she's taking the reins for the week.

    Family Photo Friday #8 - 21/02/14

Half term has vanished. I forgot it was Friday! Needless to say Family Photo Friday has an edge of better late than never today.

I'm round, I'm fat in the face and I'm waddling, but here we are!

My favourite picture from last week was from All About a Mummy - her last picture as a family of three, as Baby I made her entrance into the world earlier this week. Congratulations!

Don't forget that on March 7th, Family Photo Friday will be hosted by lovely Mummy Rawles as I anticipate being a little busy that day... Keep your eye out, I'll make sure there's something to redirect you there...

    Local Gold Mine

Even though she hates having dirty hands, E is an outdoors kind of girl. She loves being outside and getting fresh air, and places that offer the opportunity to look at animals are a double whammy of joy. We have a great local farm park, but I've always felt it a little expensive for what it was, and have been keeping my eye out for alternatives.

I was over collecting some baby clothes from my friend's parents the other day and we were chatting about Colchester Zoo, as said friends have been posted to Colchester. In the midst of conversation it became clear I had not researched my zoos properly, and it transpires that Hamerton Zoo is only 25 minutes drive from us.

So when the Met Office promised sunshine today, you can guess exactly where we headed. What a great day, despite the chill and it being the muddiest E had ever encountered. And their annual pass is £28.50 so I'm signed up for a year of zoo visits! Truly a local gold mine!

Not only was E stoked about looking at animals, it proved a great opportunity for discussion and vocabulary building... New animal names and some great sentences including...

    "Monkeeezinere"
    "Monkey go outside"
    "Tigersleepnow!"
    "Noisy monkeeeey!"
    "Monkey eat an apple"
"Baby in the tummy" (referring to the wallabies and me)

Educational and fun. My kind of day out.

    Family Photo Friday #7 (on a Saturday!) - 14/02/14

Oh my days, what a week!

I've been super busy as I finished work on Thursday to start maternity leave, and in my hectic-ness didn't have a chance for a photo or my linky sorted in advance, then we had a day without internet working... Goodness!

Here's E and daddy having a little lie in...

It's been a wet and windy one, hasn't it? I hope everyone's in tact, OK and safe and that the bad weather hasn't left the cameras in hibernation.

I reeeeeeally struggled to choose my favourite picture from last week. In the end, I settled with Mummy Morkus' photo from L's baptism... Now, I know I took this photo but that's not what it's about... These guys have to be the most wonderfully colour coordinated family I've ever met, they matched each other, and they matched the church! Don't get it? Pop over and see what I mean....

Before I forget, on March 7th, Family Photo Friday will be hosted by lovely Mummy Rawles as I anticipate being a little busy that day... Keep your eye out, I'll make sure there's something to redirect you there...
