I don't know about you, but this vile, wet weather had left us all with cabin fever. We were desperate for fresh air, sunshine and a change of scenery. I have been a frantic weather checker for days, and I was really disappointed that the ever traditional New Year's Day walk couldn't happen because it mostly looked like this through the window...
So, when the Met Office promised sunshine, we were ready. We packed wet wipes and our festive cobwebs and set out to play and get mucky. And that we did. With the occasional hand wipe. E just seemed to relish being outside and ran around beaming and squealing. There's definitely an outdoorsy in her!
It felt good.
I finally got to play with my new lens which has been twitching in my camera bag for a proper outing. I've got some learning to do, but I love love love it's flexibility.
Here's what our belated-NYD-cobweb-blowout looked like.

Beautiful pictures, this post makes me want to stick me wellies on and go for a walk right now!! :)
ReplyDeleteThankyou.... The get outside itch is courageous, but the weather is awful again... Sigh.
DeleteGorgeous photos. It's lovely to get out and get a bit of fresh air :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, absolutely!
DeleteGreat pictures - looking forward to getting outside in the countryside later today as I have cabin fever too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you got out and had a great time!!
DeleteThe new lens is great and the photos are lovely. It's been so hard waiting for the weather to let up to get some fresh air but, it looks like you picked a fab time for some outdoor fun. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, as ever! I'm so glad we got out as the rain soon came back and we're flooded in again!

DeleteGoegeous photos! Glad you finally managed to blow away those cobwebs.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sabrina!
DeleteSuch lovely bright colours in these shots - we go too stir crazy if we are cooped up for too long too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie - I find it hard to find colour in the winter sometimes, so I'm really pleased with these. Your kids seem to love the outdoors, and you have so much to explore down in the forest, I'm always a smidge envious!
DeleteBeautiful photos, we've been a bit cooped up too, taking any opportunity to get outside that we can! Looks like a wonderful walk. #CountryKids

Deletebeautiful photos! we try to go out everytime it's rainless, even if it's cold outside...
ReplyDeleteCold doesn't bother me really, there's always a hat or another jumper, but wet is something I'm still coming to terms with!
